New Work

I haven’t spent as much time in the studio as I thought I would during these strange days of relative isolation. I’ve been working on the house and garden with my husband, bird watching and basically slowing down the pace of my life in general. Recently, however, I have been getting re-energized about making art and I’ve been experimenting with a new color palette and working with monoprints using Gelli Arts gelatin printing plates . Here are a few of the pieces I’ve been working on. Two of them are finished and are posted in the New Work gallery on the website; the other two are still works in progress.

The main colors I’ve used here are Blue Light Blick Matte Acrylic, Golden Nickel Azo Yellow, Golden Van Dyke Brown and Pale Gold Blick Matte Acrylic. There’s probably also some Cream and Celadon Blick Matte Acrylics in here as well since those are two of my go-to colors. I love the warm tones in these and how the colors affect each other as they are overlapped in the printing process.
